Potential Song Choice 4 For Music Video

Potential Song Choice number 4
Innocent by Snakes Hate Fire
Snakes Hate Fire is a band that is very not well known and is slowly becoming recognised amongst young teenagers interested in indie music. The band has no official music videos for their music, which is why this could potentially be a sensible choice for a music video as it allows nothing to be compared to.
The video will consist of 3 main looking features. One being a performance concept, reoccurring during the chorus, another a narrative of a story linking the main vocalist to a story linked to the lyrics to which the last vocal point is narrative/performance with just the main vocalist.
The lyrics of the song is all about lying so the narrative (to which the main vocalist is involved with) could be about a relationship where the male is the dominant person but a little too controlling, stopping the female from various things. The video could be about demonstrating what went on in the relationship and how the girl broke free from it and how her life now is so much better than what it was.
The start of video will start with the girl walking down a pavement, lip syncing the verse then cutting to a row with the song as a bridge, which finishes with the boy walking out and the girl looking like she doesn’t believe him. Then when the chorus kicks in, the shot cuts to the performance of the band and then again cutting to a scene where the girl receives a controlling text message from the boy – back to performance – and then back to the girls reaction to the message then again to performance.
After the first chorus is a instrumental with minimal vocals that links into the next verse, this part of the video will carry on with the narrative part where the boy keeps telling the girl what to wear, shaking his head at various outfits that the girl had put on till he agrees with jeans and a jumper that cover her body.
The next verse will again start with the tracking of the girl telling the story, lip syncing, walking down a pavement, cutting to the performance, once again.
Going back to the narrative, the girl is on her laptop looking through a folder consisting of various happy photos of her and the boy, then deleting the folder.
The next chorus will be a constant cut between the 3 visuals with the narrative being another row, but about the boy taking money from the girl’s purse and lying that he hadn’t.
Sticking to the cutting between the 3 visuals, the narrative will turn into how the girl had turned her life around, doing what she wants, wearing what she wants and having a good time. The very last scene will be the girl with all the confidence, walking past the boy who tries to get her attention but she pretends she doesn’t know who he is.

Potential Song Choice 3 For Music Video

Cartoon Heroes by Aqua
My idea for a music video with the song ‘Cartoon Heroes’ is a narrative video about a boy whose imagination gets a bit carried away, reading his comic books.
The video will consist of the boy reading his comic then going into a day dream state where we see various superheroes going through his local town. His daydream is basically him wishing that the superheroes are real living people living amongst normal people. Coming towards the end his dream turns into him actually joining the superheroes, being his very own unique superhero himself.
The main vocalist of the song is female with a male so potentially the superheroes that the boy reads about could be one male and one female to which they could lip sync to the vocals giving a link to the lyrics and the visuals.
This idea for a video is an appropriate one for the facilities available.
The Mise En Scene of the piece will be bright costumes for the superheroes with potentially logos on them that can give them their own identity as a superhero.
The boy can be of any age of which is normal for boys to be reading comic books.
There is not a lot of people required to film this video so would be a good song choice.

Potential Song Choice 2 For Music Video

Watch this space by Britannia High

The original show of Britannia High was targeted at teenagers aged 13 upwards, and it was to show the message to always b yourself and to follow your dreams. The musical TV Drama is set in a performing arts school where various music videos are shown to keep the pace of the storylines, also to keep to the fact that the characters are students at the performing arts school.

My idea for a video for ‘Watch This Space’ is a narrative for two school girls in competition for the main role in the school production. The opening scene will be the two girls both going to pick up the audition script for the man part. There is only one script on display to which the girls both go to pick it up. With Both girls with their hands on the script they hold a very long, evil stare at each other. The scene ends with the teacher handing out another copy to which the girls pause again with the dirty looks and hurry off into different directions.

The main reason for the two main characters being girls is because typically, in schools, from anybodies memory of school, there was always the ‘popular, bitchy girl’ and the girl who did no wrong and got a lot of bother for pathetic reasons such as her looks of her intelligence. The moral of the video will be that people who look down on others and treat people badly will get their punishments whereas people who do no wrong and treat people with respect will get their rewards. This means that the girl who is nasty doesn’t end up with any part in the school production whilst the girl who has had a lot of stick from the nasty girl, ends up with the leading part, gaining all the respect she deserves.

Up to the chorus’ there will be a repeat of the two girls against each other with the nasty girl. They will represent good and bad with the nasty girl dressed in red and black like the devil and the good girl dressed in white and gold representing an angel. They will sing in time with the lyrics to which the camera will cross cut between them.

In between the performances there will be another scene with the girls preparing for their auditions, standing in front of the mirror trying on various clothes and make up to which the changes switch very quickly.

The last scene will be the two girls running to see the cast list to which the nasty girl rips down the list and storms off. The very last shot will be of the good girl either blowing a kiss or winking directly to the camera as a close up.

Potential Song Choice 1 For Music Video

My First song choice for a music video is ‘Jealous Minds think alike’ by You Me at Six. This song is has a mixture of rock with a pop edge to it, allowing a bigger target audience of different genders. The lyrics to the song are about a relationship where the couple in it are jealous of each other. This is the basic idea for a narrative music video.
The idea for the video is to have a mixture of narrative and performance.
The first character will be the lead singer who will at every chorus will have screen time for performance where he will have various close ups and full shots of him singing with his band behind him, a boy playing the drums and another on guitar. The Mise En Scene for these performances will be outside behind a brick wall or a fence preferably with barbed wire to symbolized being trapped in the relationship.
The lead singer will play the main part in the narrative of the story so the emotion to the song can be shown to its advantage allowing more sympathy from the viewers.
The verses of the song will be parallel to the visuals. There will be another character, a female who will play the part of the girlfriend in the relationship with the lead singer. The lyrics demonstrate many different situations which have allowed the couple to become jealous of each other.
The first verse tells us about how the boyfriend is jealous of the girlfriend always being around other boys, so before hand when the track begins, the first shot will be of a close up of a mobile phone that has a picture of the couple cuddling on the front, to which it cuts to the boy turning around and pointing to his girlfriend to show his friend ,who he was showing the photo to, who his girlfriend is. As he turns around he points to his girlfriend to find her surrounded by loads of boys flirting with her.
